hey everyone!

happy february & almost spring. (or is it spring now?)

for those who are new to this list or haven't quite figured out what this email is all about, it is a semi-weekly email of SF Bay Area Community Music, Yoga, & Nature events & news.

*NEWS:

first, please check out this video that the morning benders just released, for their song "excuses". it's the first track on their new album "big echo". http://pitchfork.com/tv/#/episode/2115-the-morning-benders/

they wanted to do a "wall of sound" type of recording, so gathered lots of musician friends from SF to join in on the song. a few of us from conspiracy of venus (frankie, dena, & myself) & one conspiracy of beard-er were lucky enough to sing in it, as well as lots of amazing local musicians - heather & adam from blue rabbit, members of the mumlers & girls, john vanderslice, dina maccabee, graham patzner, & more!

please save the date for the next Chasing the Moon show, Saturday February 27th, w/ Silian Rail, Devotionals, & Rumspringa (LA), premiering a new podcast episode, at Viracocha. it's happening a day before the full moon!

thirdly, please save the date for two other exciting shows happening at the end of this month, that i'm putting together (feb. 21) & am singing in (feb. 26).

Sunday February 21st is the next SeaweedSway Showcase at the Make-Out Room featuring Stitchcraft, Kirk Hamilton, the Nice Guy Trio, with our favorite host Jeremy Dalmas. this is happening a day after my birthday, so i hope to celebrate w/ folks there (as well as for any other february birthdays, or for any reason really). i'm also hoping to make it sort of a potluck so am looking into the details on that... (maybe a discount in admission if you bring something?)

then, Friday February 26th is a crazy wonderful show for Noise Pop where the choir I'm in, Conspiracy of Venus, will be opening for John Vanderslice, Nurses (from Portland), & Honeycomb. there's gonna be a raffle for those who get tickets in advance, and we're gonna give away yummy snacks. (let me know if you want to make "rain dog" cookies or "black crow" brownies - we'll reimburse you & thank you profusely. :)
