Gentle Hatha Yoga Class at the Yoga Loft w/ Jessie :) $10. 321 divisadero st. http://theloftsf.com 12:45-2pm.

2-4:30pm
Energy 101 Workshop:  Why I Feel So Icky When You Are Near Me. With Elisa Romeo and Meg Whitbread at the Yoga Loft. $25* (My Mom & I are going to this...)
Description:
Talking about energy is kind of like talking about breathing.  Or math.  We’re aware of it but often let it remain a mystery; or something out of our control, something not meant to be understood.
Yet, energy is pervasive.  And very alive.  And something that we can examine, manipulate, move and shift.  After a brief intro on our perspective of energy, energy work, psychic stuff, intuition, the spirit world, etc., we’ll explore why working with energy is so liberating, why we both crave and repel presence, how authentic boundaries are our best friend and how working in the subtle realm is actually an effective tool for embodiment.

This afternoon includes:

Exercises to Differentiate Thinking from Feeling and Mental Activity from Intuition

-Examples of How Energy Can Distort our Reality

-Partner Work to Explore, Test and Validate What you are Sensing

-Meditations/Practices to Use at Home for Personal Energetic Hygiene and Keeping your Space Cootie Free

*You can register by writing myogaloft@gmail.com or sign up online on the
workshop page of the Yoga Loft's website http://theloftsf.com  Note that there is a Scholarship to this workshop for one student that delivers an essay on their most hilarious energy experience.  The only guidelines are that it is a “true” story and that you give us permission to read it out loud in this class.

SALT MINDS (Dearest + Mariee Sioux)
http://myspace.com/saltminds
Salt Minds is a relatively new collaboration of Sean Kae from Dearest, Mariee Sioux, & friends. Folk chords and harmonies with tripped out electric guitars and synthesizer, welcoming new technology into "folkish" music.

IL GATO
http://ilgato.com
il gato originally was conceived as a performance art piece by Gainesville, Florida native Daimian Holiday Scott while studying architecture in Vicenza, Italy. Guayaveras, the Italian language, the Spanish language, and covers of Enrique Inglesias and Boyz II Men were to abound. Perhaps thankfully, most of the original ideas have took their departure and a new, more unhinged face has arose.

The current incarnation of il gato may best be described as indie-baroque-folk: utilizing repetition and a broad pallette of instrumentation (acoustic guitar, trumpet, violin, mandolin, banjo, upright bass, harmonica, melodica, banjo, drums, etc.). il gato writes emotionally complex songs about love and loss and how if you are going to be a lover in this world you are undoubtedly also going to be a loser and how maybe that isn't such a bad thing. Maybe it is even a beautiful thing.

Falling somewhere between old Country Folk Blues artists (Son House, Mississippi John Hurt, etc.), Neutral Milk Hotel, Modest Mouse, Andrew Bird, The Arcade Fire, M. Ward, Phillip Glass, The Dirty Three, Devotchka and Beirut, il gato is emerging in it's own space and surely will keep growing and changing as if there was really a choice.

LUCKY CLOUD (EP Release)
http://myspace.com/luckycloudband
Lucky Cloud is a three piece band of multi-instrumentalists producing atmospheric, futuristic pop; featuring Zack Ehrlich (of The Botticellis), Michale Landis and Amanda Harper

JEREMY DALMAS
http://theabsurdists.com
Jeremy will be performing, for the first time ever, a live production of Star Trek: The Next Generation Episode "Cause & Effect". About a time loop wormhole or a time warp loophole? With performing help from Christi Ginger & Julie Grossman.

MOre NEWS:

cleo the pup, needs $$ for medical care because he jumped out of a window! :(

Please donate at
http://cleothepup.blogspot.com !

Cleo's Story (by Samaki... some of you may know her from Fuzzpod):

Cleo and I have been best friends since she first appeared (literally) at my patio in Hollywood 4 years ago. Her separation anxiety lead her to breaking out of her owners house and since I was unemployed at the time, she would spend her days with me. Soon I would adopt her.

With many long walks and lots of attentions she has overcome her anxiety but with our move to a new neighborhood (and city) on June 11th she lept out of the 2nd story window of our apartment only to break her foot and bust her face. Pretty minor injuries considering the circumstances but on the following day she attempted this feat again.

Having a cast on her leg and a cone on her head, her landing was not nearly as graceful and she suffered a bad blow to the head, hip and internal damages to her bladder. She has spent many nights in the emergency room and will soon return home. She may be confused and broken, but her spirit is not broken! She is looking forward to celebrating her 10th birthday on the 4th of July. She is not going to let that stop her from celebrating despite her injuries. Cleo looks forward to stealing your heart as soon as she gets better.
