Big green names, big fun reception with delish food, DIY workshops, voter registration, films, etc. https://tickets.commonwealthclub.org/open.asp?show=1398

also, a reminder that, an as ongoing a basis as possible, i am teaching restorative yoga on fridays 11-12:30 at the yoga loft and tuesdays 6:15-7:45 at the caretakers house. all levels are welcome.

now, as usual, there are lots of events in this one message. lots of new events added - environmental, musical, & movement-based. the list is long/gigantic, i know, but also scrollable, so don't worry. :) i recommend skimming through and pausing on anything that catches your eye. if you have ideas on how to make this more readable, let me know.

Learning the Ropes: Yoga Loft Workshop

2 - 5 pm
Cost is $65
Workshop is at The Yoga Loft, 321 Divisadero St., San Francisco

Rope work, or yoga korunta, is a very dynamic and playful part of the Iyengar tradition of yoga. Ropes help tremendously in building agility and strength of body and mind. In this workshop we will focus on learning how to incorporate the ropes in your yoga practice. By transforming our relationship with gravity, the ropes assist us in focusing on specific parts of the body, refining the dynamics within a pose, and going beyond our habitual limits. We will explore standing postures, forward bends, backbends, twists, and inversions. Be prepared to enjoy and be challenged. This workshop is open to all levels and teachers who may want to teach rope work.

Optional: bring cycling or weight lifting gloves.

Pre-registration required
To register call Betty at 415-861-3055 or email
No Refund with less than 48 hours cancellation

Autumn Grounding Yoga Retreat with Kristie Dahlia Home at Double Bear in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Description: In autumn we draw toward the hearth. This year's autumn retreat will be held at Double Bear, sister camp to Salamander, the sweet little camp beloved by so many members of our sangha. Double Bear is just a ways further around the mountain and has the same lovely style of practice yurt -- but far more sleeping options! We shall still have the joys of wood fire heated yurts, a redwood hot tub, and oh, so many delights to enjoy. Our practice, too, will pull toward the spiritual hearth with an expansive practice of healing arts. Double Bear is an intimate retreat site where we can lavish you with attention; at most there will be 13 retreatants. Details at http://is.gd/2RzwM
