A bit about the other touring bands:
Marcus Very Ordinary is a Los Angeles trio who's self-proclaimed style of "sad bastard music," manipulating the verge of macabre, caters to kindred spirits for whom soul-searching is a life-long journey. The band consists of, principal songwriter, Jon Lorentz who plays the guitar, piano and banjo; in addition to laying down the vocals. Barrick LaTona is on double bass and Veronica Scotto rounds out the group with the violin, adding rich textures from their training in jazz and classical music.

Gregg Tillery is a by-product of a mother who is a doctor of audiology and a father who is obsessed with James Brown. That union 27 years later would lead to music influenced by 60’s soul and 70’s funk wrapped in an electo-indie-acoustic package. A multi-instrumentalist, Gregg is self-taught in guitar, banjo, drums, piano and almost everything that makes noise.

The Hoof and The Heel weaves the lush vocals of Harris Shper and Christine Hale in a dreamy boy-girl duet. Farid Rener rounds out the trio with inspired drumbeats and keen musicality. Keyboards and guitar kick in, providing a strong foundation for heartfelt lyrics. Intelligent indie pop, The Hoof and The Heel bring both sentimental melodies and unpretentious enjoyment to their music.

Learning the Ropes: Yoga Loft Workshop

2 - 5 pm
Cost is $65
Workshop is at The Yoga Loft, 321 Divisadero St., San Francisco

Rope work, or yoga korunta, is a very dynamic and playful part of the Iyengar tradition of yoga. Ropes help tremendously in building agility and strength of body and mind. In this workshop we will focus on learning how to incorporate the ropes in your yoga practice. By transforming our relationship with gravity, the ropes assist us in focusing on specific parts of the body, refining the dynamics within a pose, and going beyond our habitual limits. We will explore standing postures, forward bends, backbends, twists, and inversions. Be prepared to enjoy and be challenged. This workshop is open to all levels and teachers who may want to teach rope work.

Optional: bring cycling or weight lifting gloves.

Pre-registration required
