herbs, outside lands, self-acupressure, slow food nation, art of walking

hello out there*

i tried to make this update short, but it didn't really work. even so, i hope you'll look below to find out about upcoming events, for which i hope you'll save (some of) the dates. the list below is a quick summary, believe it or not, which is why i hope you'll check out other sections of this blog (seaweedsway.blogspot.com) to see a few more!

farm, music, & movement updates to follow:

*8/23 saturday
today saturday august 23rd is a workday at alemany farm. we are continuing to plant & maintain the medicinal herb garden (maintain = watering & weeding & mulching), and we could use your help. please stop by anytime between noon and 5pm. besides herbs, there are a lot of other fruits and veggies that will also need your help -- cucumbers, dry farmed tomatoes, beans, strawberries, kale, chard, squash, basil, and more -- as many of the summer crops are peaking. also, if you have any cardboard to spare, please bring it, as we can use it in the herb beds to prevent weeds from growing.

if you are lucky enough to be going to the outside lands music & arts festival tomorrow, i recommend that you go hear/see sean hayes (3-3:35pm at the presidio - lindley meadow stage) & the two gallants (6 at the same stage). lots of other amazing bands will also be playing at golden gate park too, as you probably know by now.

*8/24 sunday! 1:30-4pm
