"under a shipwrecked moon" film screening at grace north sanctuary in berkeley. Tragic turns to magic in the crossroads of dreams.

Filmmaker in person. Admission: $6-$10.

When a self-made shamanic punk rocker searches the spirit world for his father, a ship captain who drowned at sea, he unexpectedly enters the dreams of his comatose Finnish grandfather who is dreaming of his long lost love, a sorceress who beckons him to the great beyond. As the grandfather sleeps, his earthbound family gathers around his hospital bedside with their own secrets, demands and stories to share in this surreal fable of true love, giant hedgehogs and the mystical depths of family bonds. Featuring a lush soundtrack by the filmmaker's wife, Sylvi Alli, who also plays the lover. (2003; 96 min. USA).

DAVID DONDERO
Few songwriters have experienced and expressed the sinking depths and uplifting optimism of humanity like David Dondero, and his ability to shine a light on the human condition (his own included) is inspiring. Dondero is best known for his narrative tales of America. Having spent most of his life on the road, Dave uses his staggering lyrical talent to paint tales of life in the US of A through clever word play and sarcastic humor about some of life’s most sensitive subjects.
http://myspace.com/davedondero

MIKAEL JORGENSEN (Wilco, Pronto)
We are pleased as punch to announce the official release of All is Golden from Pronto, the solo project of Mikael Jorgensen, keyboardist & laptopper for Wilco. All is Golden is a 70's-inspired tome that came together with the help of members of Iron & Wine, Califone, and Antibalas. It is the sound of waking up and moving on, cross-country trips to California, black days and blue nights giving way to better times and warmer promises. It's remembered AM-radio, respectfully and earnestly employed to communicate something timeless.

OBO MARTIN
Obo Martin's music envelopes you like the light of a harvest moon. His honesty is as warm and comforting as a campfire and his style is as unpredictable as the storyteller who spins yarn around it.
