Hello, local SF band, il gato (http://www.ilgato.com), are in need of a multi-instrumentalist who can play trumpet/flugelhorn and an additional instrument, ideally one of the following:  Piano, Guitar, Accordion, Banjo, etc.

We are a serious band with a good track record, grand aspirations, and are looking for a talented musician who shares our aspirations and the associated commitments and wants to be a part of an on-going creative project. We all sing, we help write songs and we want this to be an awesome experience. We intend to record our next album in the Fall and tour in 2012. Yoga Classes this Week: Saturday Gentle Hatha (12:45-2) & Vinyasa (4:30), Sunday Restorative (6:30), Wednesday Beginner's (7:30)

Hello!

Here is an update on yoga classes I'm teaching this week, if you can make it to any.

All of the classes are only $10 and all levels, except for the Beginner's Class on Wednesday (ask me for pricing info).  The Beginner's Class is geared towards those who are newer to yoga, of course, but if you want a gentler class it may be a good fit for you as well.

Bio:

Jessie teaches gentle hatha & restorative yoga in San Francisco. Her mother was her first yoga teacher, and this early experience of yoga led to a continued exploration and fascination of yoga. In 2006, she trained to teach Beginner's Hatha Yoga (with a large emphasis on the gentle Integral Yoga method), through the guidance of Jeannie Laslo (Red Door Yoga Co-Owner). In 2008, to continue her studies, she took the Yoga Loft's Advanced Studies/Teacher Training, and in 2010 she took Judith Hanson Lasater's Relax & Renew Restorative Yoga training. She currently assists yoga teacher Britt Fohrman in gentle and restorative classes.

Jessie enthusiastically welcomes new practitioners to yoga and supports the continuation of a yoga practice at any time or phase of one's life, with an awe of how yoga can heal us.  She intends to facilitate the experience of yoga, or union, by allowing space for the breath, emotions, observing patterns of thought and thus habits of movement, and encouraging overall comfort in the body in its current state. Jessie teaches with care for each student and believes in the power of yoga to bring about a deep peace and ease of mind, heart, and body, that can allow us to fulfill our innermost intentions. DINA MACCABEE BAND

Classical viola major  Dina Maccabee and free-jazz guitarist Tobin Summerfield made friends in Ann Arbor in 1998. They joked about the pop record they would make one day, but didn’t realize the common musical ground they’d create until...

A dozen years later, Dina is the go-to string player for all kinds of creative and popular music in the San Francisco Bay. The resulting collaboration is a set of tunes from right now that also stands outside pop music's endless wandering from trend to trend. The songs are timeless, intertwining disparate influences with a contemporary stylishness. Maccabee’s credentials from a decade in the real School of Rock show up in the shape of her songs, concise, intelligent lyrics, and her direct, unaffected singing style. Cleo's Story (by Samaki):

Cleo and I have been best friends since she first appeared (literally) at my patio in Hollywood 4 years ago. Her separation anxiety lead her to breaking out of her owners house and since I was unemployed at the time, she would spend her days with me. Soon I would adopt her.

With many long walks and lots of attentions she has overcome her anxiety but with our move to a new neighborhood (and city) on June 11th she lept out of the 2nd story window of our apartment only to break her foot and bust her face. Pretty minor injuries considering the circumstances but on the following day she attempted this feat again.

Having a cast on her leg and a cone on her head, her landing was not nearly as graceful and she suffered a bad blow to the head, hip and internal damages to her bladder. She has spent many nights in the emergency room and will soon return home. She may be confused and broken, but her spirit is not broken!
