love for the sake of love. A benefit to save the original Juneteenth** celebration in Galveston Texas
**Juneteenth celebrates the abolishment of slavery in the United States. The proclamation was made on Galveston Island in 1865, and the community has had a Parade, known as Juneteenth, for over 100 years. However, due to Hurricane Ike's devastation, the county does not have the funds for the parade, for the first time in its history.
We're looking to rescue this Parade as a gift from San Francisco to Galveston, Texas. This Parade will bring many friends and family back to the island to continue their tradition.
