Please join us for a very special gathering of east and west bay talents! Each act on this bill is not only a phenomenal performer but also a totally unique singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist approaching her music in a creative way -- be it on banjo, accordion, fiddle, or ukulele.

***Uni and her Ukelele***

Uni, the neo-vintage pop chanteuse/raconteur gathered up kickpants, a rockhawk and magical ruby slippers for the first time in 2004 and her 20’s punk movement has been gathering strength ever since. Her original and sincere take on the Ukelele coupled with her sweetly stirring and sometimes-haunting refrains unite to conjure the spectrum of catharsis.

***Dina Maccabee Band***

What do Wilco, Donovan, and Duncan Sheik have in common? Why, they've all shared a stage with Dina Maccabee of course. Dina has performed with countless Bay Area bands on fiddle and vocals, and now it's time to drop the curtain on her very own set of sad songs for rocking out.
with Roger Riedelbauer, guitar, Eric Perney, bass, and Eric Kuhn, drums

***Whiskey & Women***

Featuring members of Culann's Hounds and The Whoreshoes, the girls of Whiskey and Women dish up a tasty mix of old-timey, Cajun, and Irish music. Spawned from late nights of Jameson-influenced tunes and singalongs, as well as playing music on the streets of San Francisco and Edinburgh, Renee de la Prade and Joan Wilson Rueter create a delicious blend of fiddle, accordion, boot stompin' and hollerin' as Whiskey and Women.

CARETAKERS SWAP 3:30-6:30 & YOGA LOFT TEACHER TRAINING info session 11-1 TOMORROW!

Hey everyone,
this is partially an update on the caretakers house and partially a yoga update, so PLEASE see below for proper categories.
CARETAKERS HOUSE:
there's a whole bunch of cool stuff happening at the caretakers house in the coming weeks, including an everything SWAP tomorrow from 3:30-6:30pm!  and it's a celebration for courtney's 25TH birthday!  she's one of the most amazing people i know, so come celebrate her life, and get rid of stuff you no longer need at the same time.
also, there's gonna be another couple of OLD-TIME JAMs, hosted by anton & chris... and a belly dancing class on wednesdays, and acoustic shows on mondays.  wow!  their email about it all is fun & easy to read & copied at the bottom of this message.
YOGA UPDATES:
i'll be giving an info session tomorrow on the yoga loft's teacher training / advanced studies program.  it's from 11am-1pm at the yoga loft. 321 divisadero st. @ page st.  email if you want more details, or go to http://theloftsf.com or just show up!  i highly recommend the program if you want to go deeper in your yoga practice, whether or not you want to teach...  it starts in september and is on saturdays and some sundays, going for 6 months.  i'll be involved in the coordination of the program so will get to hang out w/ you a lot if you sign up! ;)
while i'm giving updates / reminders, i'm teaching this tuesday at the caretakers house at the usual time - 6:15-7:45.  caretakers house class is cancelled the next two weeks(July 21st & July 28th).  however, on July 28th there is a FREE CLASS for beginners at the yoga loft from 6-7:30. (again!)  so i encourage you all to go to that and bring your friends & practice on your own or discover new classes in the meantime  (let me know if you want recommendations for your home practice or community classes.)
and, as mentioned before, i'll be teaching a friday restorative yoga class from 11-12:30 every week starting in august, when i return from vacation.
last but not least, i just got a small shipment of PROPS to bring to the caretakers house... a few bolsters and blankets, just to start with.  THANK YOU for all of your donations, which are finally going to purchase props!!
OK, now here's the scoop from the Caretakers, which inspired this email in the first place!
