We are excited to announce the next SeaweeedSway Showcase w/ Little Wings, Aaron Novik's Thorny Brocky, & NoHow On. This is a monthly event on the third Sundays of the month, with an intent to cultivate community around good music. This month we have two local bands, one folk-y & more established (Little Wings) one jazz-y & newer (Thorny Brocky), and the great NoHow On (Shins-sounding) touring through from the East Coast. *We will also have a little info session about the recent gulf oil spill and pass a hat around to get donations in support of friends who are helping out with it.* Highlighting non-profits or important issues is one way that we bring in the community element.

LITTLE WINGS!
http://kyledraws.com
Little Wings was formed in San Luis Obisbo, CA, and the music of Little Wings carries the landscape of its place of origin like clouds carry water vapor, to release it in a myriad of forms over a changing landscape. Little wings is a project that revolves around frontman and songwriter Kyle Field, sometimes with drummer Tim Bluhm, keyboardist/fiddle Alexi Glickman, guitar players Lee Baggett and Brett Simundson and newcomer Tom Heyman on pedal steel. His Debut Album, The Wonder City, was released in 1998 by Walking Records, and later in 2000 by Knw-Yr-Own. It has been called "a dreamy, balladic tribute to the surreal aspects of the contemporary Californian landscape." Moving to Portland, Little Wings followed up this first release with The Wonder City and Wonderue to complete their Wonder Trilogy, which consists of three albums released on K and Knw-Yr-Own Records.2002 saw the release of light green leaves (K) and In 2003 Little Wings released Harvest Joy/Octember Sketches (invisible city) a split CD only release with longtime friend and collaborator,Lee Baggett., followed by Magic Wand/Magic Wood in 2004 and Grow (K) in 2005. He released Soft Pow'r in 2007 on the band's own (RAD) imprint. Little Wings is now based out of the Bay Area and has played with the likes of Grandaddy, Lee Baggett, and Devendra Banhart,Calvin Johnson,Daniel Johnston,Michael Hurley, and is also a talented visual artist. A book of his drawings was published by the label Ahornfelder. (Drawing embedded on this page is by Kyle.)

NOHOW ON!
http://nohowon.com Architects of a unique sound they describe as Garage Folk, the members of Nohow On draw upon a diverse range of traditional and contemporary influences, from Sacred Harp singing and West African griot music to Bob Dylan and Neutral Milk Hotel. The band juggles an eclectic array of instruments and vocal parts in its live show, weaving world-weary lyrics around sweet melodies, forceful harmonies and unorthodox arrangements. with our ever-amusing host JEREMY DALMAS! http://theabsurdists.com For Press Inquiries, Please Contact: Jessie Woletz seaweedsway@gmail.com Phone: 415 515 7604
