1) I'll be singing with Conspiracy of Venus on the radio tomorrow/Sat. - West Coast Live - a few songs between 10am & 12pm! 5) Saturday December 29th is the finale of the East Bay Seaweed Sway series I've been doing this year at the Starry Plough. It's been a great run! The year will end with songs from The Beehavers, Mariee Sioux, & Mark Grabiner!

Sean Hayes & Michael Musika Friday @ the Independent! Special Show! Get your tix!!


Hi! 
A quick message to inform you that Sean Hayes is playing tomorrow night at the Independent: with Michael Musika opening! Eric Kuhn playing in both bands! Indianna Hale & Erica Fink joining Michael & Eric for a song. Gonna be so special! We just heard that Saturday night sold out, and there are not many tix left for Friday. These are some of my very very favorite artists, and this show means a lot, in multiple realms. Here's a message from Michael about the show, that says it all better than I can explain:

"This Friday November 30, 2012, my friend Eric Kuhn and I will be opening for Sean 
Hayes at San Francisco's Independent. We have a memorable performance prepared. 

Also, those in attendance can take home a preview 3 song EP of a record we've been 
working on for the past two years. The record is tentatively titled "ghosts."  We 
came to understand the songs and how to record them by travelling far away from 
home together.  As the scenery passed through the windows of our travels, we listened
to music and talked.  This way of being had an amusing and slightly spooky effect on both 
of us.  We came to realize that we shared several significant fascinations with specific
musical characters from childhood.  Through this conversation the characters came 
powerfully back to life inside the imagination.  It was like becoming reacquainted with a 
missing part of myself and reminded me that making music is for those who are present 
as well as for those who are not.  When finally we returned back home I fell asleep watching 
a glamorous old movie and had a dream where a giant ghost wearing a tophat was
rowing us downriver through summertime in the French countryside in an oversized canoe."

Mark Matos & his Transband, Michael Musika, Mana Maddy: Tonight! 3 year Seaweed Sway Showcase Anniversary!


Hello!
Halloween is swiftly approaching, and we're celebrating w/ the final two shows of this month. Today October 21st at the Make-Out Room: Mark Matos & his Transband, Michael Musika, & Mana Maddy: Magic Mountain Night. COSTUME CONTEST for both shows! If everyone's quiet for Michael's set, he'll be telling us a little story from last night... and if I don't chicken out, I'm gonna sing on a song toward the end of the set. 

Next Saturday, join us at the Starry Plough for the Adam Burns Band, Ayla Nereo, & Zej & Calen's East Bay CD Release!

Conspiracy of Venus @ Amnesia Tonight, 9:30 + Slow Motion Cowboys CD Release Oct. 18th + Sean Hayes On Tour


Hi everyone!
Hoping to stop by the bluegrass fest today, but before I go, wanted to make sure you know about these great October shows coming up. A little summary: Tonight I'll be singing w/Conspiracy of Venus at Amnesia, we open at 9:30pm, doors 9:15. (Our video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXiX3QiBvv8 ) Followed by Wildhawk & The Disposition's Album Release! Come if you can!! 

Thursday October 18th is a big big show, at a small cozy place. Slow Motion Cowboys are releasing their new album, Buzzard Songs, and it's been a long time in the making with a lot of love. (SMC vid: "shark attack" http://youtu.be/ZVLnnj8hy68 ) Please come support. They are one of my favorite favorite bands ever. The gathering is at Viracocha, so please get there early to ensure a good seat. The night starts with Virgil Shaw (Pete of Slow Motion Cowboy's favorite, I am excited to finally hear his music) + Mike Coykendall from Portland is releasing his album too! His album features Zooey Deschanel, M.Ward, Ben Gibbard, and a host of others). Please be there!

Then two Halloween shows will close the month. Sunday October 21st at the Make-Out Room: Mark Matos & his Transband, Michael Musika, & Mana Maddy: Magic Mountain Night. Costumes encouraged. + at the Starry Plough Saturday October 27th, Adam Burns Band, Ayla Nereo, & Zej & Calen's East Bay CD Release! I am usually not one to dress up for this holiday, but this year I've resolved to figure out some sort of costume, so let me know if you have ideas. :)
